California Food

On my SF trip for New Year's I had to check out Sam's Chowder House (http://www.samschowderhouse.com/) in Half Moon Bay since I saw its food truck on a top 10 food truck tv show recently. I would say it was very fresh and good but make it an event and don't try to get the take out.

Also, had some wonderful deep dish pizza in Burlingame. :)

Brussel Sprouts

I have been trying to recreate the Brussel Sprouts I had at Delarosa's in San Francisco (http://www.delarosasf.com/) ever since my friends introduced me to them. They have a wonderful aioli to accompany the brussels but I haven't quite figured it out yet. The one I made was with parsley, lemon juice, garlic and mayo.  I roasted the brussels in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes with a little olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.  The brussels turned out wonderfully but still need to work on the sauce! I also used my new knife my brother gave me for Christmas to chop the brussel sprouts in half - worked wonders.

Celebrity Blogger: Barber's Crab Cakes :)

Thanks to Evie's cousin we enjoyed super yummy crab cakes (King Crab) using a family recipe. Instead of Tabasco Evie used Worcestershire sauce and added a few more veggies including a red bell pepper.
